How Jurors are Summoned

Names of grand and petit jurors for this Court are selected at random from combined lists of:

  • Registered voters
  • Licensed drivers
  • Idaho state ID card holders

Voter information is provided by county voter registration records maintained by the Idaho Secretary of State. Driver’s license and state ID card information is provided by the Idaho Department of Motor Vehicles.

Using these combined lists helps ensure that juries are selected from a fair cross-section of the community within the District of Idaho.

When are Summonses Mailed Out?

A jury summons packet is mailed approximately four to six weeks before your service date. The packet includes:

  • A jury summons
  • Instructions for completing your juror questionnaire online through eJuror

If you do not have access to a computer, please call 1-844-868-6769 to request paper copies by mail.
